Editorial Board Composition Note
Research Papers of UNWE and Yearbook of UNWE are both published by the University of National and World Economy (UNWE) under the university-wide Academic Publishing UNWE (AP-UNWE) framework, and share a number of editorial board members. This reflects the shared institutional research expertise available at UNWE across economics, business, and public policy, rather than a merger of editorial processes. Each journal maintains its own independent submission workflow, peer-review process, and editorial decision-making, in line with COPE's Core Practices. Editorial board members contribute to each journal according to its distinct aims and scope, and manuscript handling decisions for each title are made independently by that journal's assigned editors. Editorial Governance of the Yearbook of UNWE
Established in 1922, the Yearbook of UNWE has developed alongside the University of National and World Economy (UNWE) as a long-standing forum for scholarly inquiry and academic exchange. This tradition provides the institutional foundation for the journal's editorial governance, while its contemporary profile reflects the evolving standards and international orientation of scholarly publishing.
Today, the Yearbook of UNWE is an English-language journal with a distinctive international and regional perspective. Its particular focus on Eastern Europe positions the region not merely as a geographical area of interest but as an important setting for examining economic and social transformation, institutional change, governance, public policy, and sustainable development. At the same time, the journal welcomes research that situates developments in Eastern Europe within broader European and global contexts and encourages comparative approaches that connect regional evidence with wider theoretical and policy debates.
The journal's publication profile is designed to support comprehensive, in-depth scholarship. The Yearbook publishes articles and research studies alongside review articles and formal scholarly discussions. Particular value is placed on research that is theoretically and methodologically grounded, conceptual and synthesis studies, comparative work, and broader empirical analyses. Review articles complement original research by critically assessing and integrating existing bodies of knowledge and by identifying emerging questions and directions for further inquiry.
This scholarly profile is supported by a dedicated editorial process.
