Editorial Board Composition Note
Research Papers of UNWE and Yearbook of UNWE are both published by the University of National and World Economy (UNWE) under the university-wide Academic Publishing UNWE (AP-UNWE) framework, and share a number of editorial board members. This reflects the shared institutional research expertise available at UNWE across economics, business, and public policy, rather than a merger of editorial processes. Each journal maintains its own independent submission workflow, peer-review process, and editorial decision-making, in line with COPE's Core Practices. Editorial board members contribute to each journal according to its distinct aims and scope, and manuscript handling decisions for each title are made independently by that journal's assigned editors. Editorial Governance of Research Papers of UNWE
Research Papers of UNWE, established in 1925, is part of the University of National and World Economy's (UNWE) scholarly publishing system. Its editorial governance reflects the historical development of research and scholarly publishing at the University and ensures continuity in the application of UNWE's academic, ethical, and editorial standards.
The journal has a clearly defined scholarly and publication profile, shaped by its aims, thematic scope, bilingual character, and the diversity of its published contributions.
Publishing in both Bulgarian and English is a key element of this profile, combining participation in international scholarly communication with support for the development of Bulgarian scientific terminology and academic communication in the fields of economics, business, and applied social sciences. In this way, the journal provides opportunities both to publish research of international relevance and to conduct scholarly analysis of issues, policies, and processes whose comprehensive discussion within the national academic and institutional context requires publication in Bulgarian.
Research Papers of UNWE publishes articles, research studies, scientific opinions, scholarly discussions, and book reviews. This publication model combines the dissemination of original analytical and empirical research with opportunities for evidence-based scholarly debate, interdisciplinary exchange, and critical assessment of recent academic publications.
Each submitted manuscript is managed through the journal's editorial workflow on its OJS platform and evaluated against the journal's aims, thematic scope, and the requirements applicable to the respective publication type. Reviewers are selected for each manuscript based on its subject matter and the scholarly expertise required for its evaluation.
Decisions on manuscripts, including progression to peer review, requests for revision, and acceptance or rejection for publication, are made within the editorial process of Research Papers of UNWE and independently of the editorial processes of the University's other scholarly publications.
This continuity is exercised within the framework of Academic Publishing UNWE (AP-UNWE), which sets university-wide requirements for academic ethics, originality, and quality across UNWE's scholarly periodicals.
